Evulvia is an artificial life (A-life) project, currently being developed by jordirosa★.
Evulvia is a virtual world, it's an image of our own planet and it's populated by evulvians. Users (YOU!!) can create new evulvians, deciding what country they will be born in. The life of each evulvian will be highly influenced by the country where it's been born in, using real life parameters from that country. Some evulvians may migrate looking for a better life. They will move around their world looking for other evulvians, and they will influence each other and may even mate, creating new evulvians.
The appereance of each evulvian will be a reflection of its state, this being determined by the country where it was born in, by the country(ies) where it's been living in and by how other evulvians may have influenced on them. Evulvians who are born from other evulvians (and not created by users) will inherit information from their parents, in addition to the influence of the country where they were born in they will have, like any other evulvian.
Evulvians will live for some time, move around, and die. You will be able to see how and where every evulvian is and how it was in the past, seeing its evolution in life.
In this project I want to explore how can I make a computer system generate three-dimensional shapes in a way I find interesting and appealing. I also want them to be a reflection of several aspects of our world I think it's important to show and put an accent on, like the different levels of wealth and poverty, acess to water, health care, life expectancy, migration movements... And I also want to see how far can I get creating a world with its rules and its habitants and let them go, having their own lives and see where they go.

Evulvia es un proyecto de vida artificial actualmente en desarrollo por jordirosa★.
Evulvia es un mundo virtual a imagen de nuestro planeta y está habitado por evulvianos. Los usuarios (osea, TÚ) pueden hacer que nazcan nuevos evulvianos, decidiendo en qué país nacerán. La vida de cada habitante estará altamente influenciada por el país en el que nacen, usando parámetros reales de ese país. Algunos migrarán buscando una vida mejor. Se moverán por el mundo buscando otros evulvianos, se influenciarán entre ellos y pueden incluso llegar a procrear, creando nuevos evulvianos que heredarán parámetros de sus progenitores además de los del país donde nace.
El aspecto de cada evulviano será un reflejo de su estado, siendo éste determinado por parámetros del país en el que nació, por el/los paises en los que haya podido vivir y por cómo otros evulvianos puedan haberle influido.
Vivirán por un tiempo, se moverán por el mundo, y también morirán. Se podrá consultar cómo y dónde está cada evulviano en ese momento y su pasado, pudiendo así ver cuál ha sido su evolución en la vida.
En este proyecto quiero explorar cómo puedo hacer que un sistema informático genere formas tridimensionales que me puedan parecer interesantes y atractivas. Tambien quiero que su aspecto ayude a comunicar varios aspectos de nuestro mundo que me parece importante poner en evidencia, grandes desigualdades socio-económicas cómo las diferencias entre países a nivel económico, de acceso a la salud, a agua potable, esperanza de vida, los movimientos migratorios... También me gustaría ver hasta dónde puedo llegar creando un mundo con sus reglas para sus habitantes, dotándoles de cierta 'autonomía' y dejarlos hacer, viendo luego qué vidas acaban teniendo.
Este es mi proyecto final para el Máster Universitario en Artes Digitales que estoy acabando de cursar en la UPF en Barcelona.
